Art direction and atmosphere are almost as good as in the first two games as well, which is appreciated. The pacing isn't always great, some parts feel a bit forced, and there's a laughably bad love triangle subplot, but overall it's interesting and compelling, and the voice acting is reasonably strong. However, if you don't expect the same experience as Dead Space 1 and 2, you'll probably still have fun. The game just isn't scary like the others I never felt significant anxiety or dread, and the only couple of jump scares that got me were dumb instances of random necromorphs popping out of the snow. Unlike 1 and 2, Dead Space 3 feels much less like a horror action-shooter and more like a third person shooter with horror elements. Dead Space 3 is a good game, but not a good Dead Space game.
